Breakfast at Tiffany's

Congrats to Gentri and Rachel on the successful second meeting of the DC Gourmet Club!

As we arrived, Gentri and Rachel totally knocked our socks off with their smooth LIVE MUSIC!
What an amazing touch!  It really made the party feel glamorous and elegant.
Totally set the mood.
Seriously, they had live music.
Wow.  :)

APPETIZERS

yogurt parfaits with Danish berry compote and honey granola--yum!

and savory mini quiches...flaky goodness

THE SETTING:

Such clever use of Tiffany blue paper.  Those famous blue boxes!
Pretty sparkling glass and colorful napkins.

THE MENU.

Everything tasted even better than it sounded!  :)

THE GUESTS:

Olivia and Kim

Kastell and Niki

Hillary and baby (born this morning--seriously!)

Elizabeth Anderson was out of town, so Kelly Crawford was invited to take her place.  We showed up wearing the exact same dress!  Don't you love her fascinator?

Emily and Merianne

Little blue boxes as place cards. So pretty.

FIRST COURSE.

Warm, savory, potato potage, sweet and flaky oatmeal scones, and morning glory spinach salad accompanied by sunrise citrus julius.  EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD!  And what beautiful presentation.

MAIN.

Poulte crepes (French pancakes rolled and stuffed with chicken filling) and green beans with prosciutto.  Amazing flavor and texture.  I finished mine, even though I was full.  Oops.  :)

DESSERT.

Molten chocolate ebelskivers (Dutch pancakes filled with semi-sweet chocolate).  Holy cow.  So delicious!

THE FAVORS:

And here's the surprise waiting in the little blue box.  Sparkly earrings!  Love it.
 And adorable coordinating lollipops!
 Cute detail.

OUR HOSTESSES:

Gentri and Rachel made a great team!  I know I had a fabulous night, and I'm positive everyone else did, too.  It was delicious, creative, and beautiful.
Thank you!  Looking forward to next month, although it's OUR TURN TO HOST!  Yikes!
Should be fun!
:)
